Tyler Perry’s Boo! A Madea Halloween surprised everyone with a strong second weekend at the box office and was able to hold the top spot after bringing in $16.7 million and raising its total domestic gross to $52 million.
Inferno finished in second place and had a very disappointing opening weekend only grossing $15 million which was well under expectations. It was not even close to 2009’s Angels & Demons $46.2 million opening and the $77 million opening of The Da Vinci Code back in 2006 reports Box Office Mojo.
Third place went to Jack Reacher: Never Go Back with $9.6 million. I still think this film will earn around $60 to $65 million domestically. The Accountant came in fourth place with $8.5 million and passed $60 million domestically. Ouija: Origin of Evil rounds out the top five with $7.1 million.
Miss Peregrine is the highest-grossing movie in the top 10 and finished in seventh place with $4 million and raised its domestic gross to $79.9 million after 31 days. I highly doubt Madea can hold the top spot next weekend with the highly anticipated Marvel’s Doctor Strange opening.
