Most artists' songs are inspired by things they've been through like their past relationships or experiences with family members and fans or even a night out. However, Nicki Minaj was inspired by a well known gorilla named Harambe.

When the "Super Bass" rapper tweeted about the release of her Pick My Fruit Out album, Twitter users had tons of questions about the news.

Understandably, each track off the album is named after a fruit.

Tracklist:

1. Mango
2. Cherry
3. Watermelon
4. Bananas (Harambe interlude)
5. Grapes
6. Raspberries
7. Kiwi
8. Pineapple
9. Fruit Loops

Yes, you read No. 4 correctly, "Bananas (Harambe interlude)."

#PickMyFruit began to trend on Twitter quickly, but a solid hour after her initial tweet Minaj confirmed that the entire thing was one big joke.

Minaj is no stranger to surprising her fans and rapping about Harambe though. In September, she released an unexpected song to SoundCloud titled "The Pinkprint Freestyle" and in that song she did in fact mention the gorilla.
