Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson have made the list of 2017 nominees for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The list was released Tuesday and voting began the same day. An international body consisting of over 800 artists and music industry veterans will have a chance to select this year's inductees.

According to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's website, fans will also have the opportunity to participate in the selection process by voting online to select who they feel should be inducted this year. The top five picks will then be entered onto a ballot will then be placed on a fans ballot that will be counted with other votes.

According to Reuters, to be eligible for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, an artist has to have released their first song 25 years ago. This is Tupac Shakur's first year of eligibility for induction. Janet Jackson has been eligible since 2007. The 2017 inductees will be announced after voting closes on Dec. 5.
