Disney is having a record breaking year at the box office and Doctor Strange kept that trend going this weekend by bringing in $43 million during its second week and passing $153 million domestically after just 10 days in release. It is the second fastest Marvel single-character film to reach $150 million domestically, only behind 2008’s Iron Man reports Box Office Mojo.

Trolls came in at No. 2 for the second straight week after only dropping 25 percent and bringing in $35.1 million. It is closing in on $100 million domestically. New releases took third and fourth place as Arrival came in third with $24 million and Almost Christmas took fourth place with $15.6 million. I predict Arrival will gross around $80-$90 million domestically and Almost Christmas will close out under $50 million.Hacksaw Ridge rounds out the top five with $10.8 million.

The Accountant came in sixth place and continues to hold a solid audience with $4.6 million. The film has just passed $77 million domestically after 31 days. The other new release of the week Shut In had a quiet opening of $3.7 million. I predict this film will quickly fall out of the top 10.

I think it will be tough for Doctor Strange to hold the top spot next weekend, especially with the highly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them coming out. I predict that film will be your box office champion next weekend.
