It looks like Donald Trump's team has finally snagged a big name singer to perform at his Inauguration next month and that person is Andrea Bocelli.
The president-elect's inaugural committee tried to book singers like Justin Timberlake, Elton John and Bruno Mars telling them to simply "name their price," however, those attempts were unsuccessful as the artists declined. But now People has confirmed that they were able to get the Italian tenor to agree to sing and do a duet with America’s Got Talent star Jackie Evancho.
The details of what the two are planning to sing together have not been disclosed and Bocelli himself has not commented on the news. Evancho on the other hand expressed her excitement during an appearance on the Today show Wednesday and said she would be singing the National Anthem at the ceremony.
The 16-year-old, who competed on the hit show when she was just 10, has performed at past events for President Barack Obama at the National Christmas Tree Lighting in 2010 and again in 2012 at the National Prayer Breakfast.
Of her upcoming performance on Jan. 20 she said, “It’s going to be awesome!”
