Parishioners gathered for a Christmas service in Sri Lanka did a double take when they saw the words printed out for the Hail Mary prayer in their programs.

Churchgoers were definitely confused to see lines like "Empty out my clip, never stop to aim, some say, 'The game is all corrupted,' f**ked in this shit, stuck, ni**az is lucky/ If we bust out this s**t, plus mama told me never stop until I bust a nut/ F**k the world if they can't adjust," printed in place of the words to the prayer.

Those words printed on the programs were actually the words of the late great rapper Tupac Shakur's hit "Hail Mary" and while the song is one of Shakur's classics, it's definitely not something you would ever dream of hearing at church.

"A lot of people were in shock as whether it was a joke or someone would actually rap the song," Andrew Choksy who attended the service told CNN. "A few of the older ladies in front of us could not stop looking at the printed booklet."

Father Da Silva of the Archdiocese of Colombo issued an apology for the mistake and collected the books back.

"We are very sorry to say that this happened," he said. "The page was in the middle of the booklet. Two people saw it and alerted us to it."

He added that a young boy was responsible for printing the content and must have downloaded the wrong version of Hail Mary.

You can hear the words to Tupac's song below, but warning it contains explicit lyrics not suitable for church.
