Indie/Electronic prodigy Emmit Fenn released his second single “Blinded” on Dec. 7. With only two releases to date, Fenn has already displayed a musical competence that could make him a house name in the future.

“Blinded” is carried by simple, yet impactful lyrics. The exploration and experimentation of the song is present in the instrumentation. The arrangement contains a round piano line accompanied by syncopation for balance. About halfway through, we are introduced to an austere violin line that enforces the song’s introspective sentiment. “Blinded” is severe in its sonic beauty and power.

“Blinded” is a moving song that varies greatly from Fenn’s first single that gained him attention, “Painting Greys”. That track differs from “Blinded” in that it showcases undiluted vocals and a heavy electronic influence, with a more upbeat and spacious arrangement.

With the release of “Blinded” we now see two different sides to Fenn, both equally intoxicating. Hopefully we will see an EP release from him soon so that we can get a more well-rounded look at and enjoy what he is capable of.
