The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2017 class has been announced and so many deserving artists are being inducted.
Rolling Stone reported that next year's class of inductees are Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Journey, Yes, Electric Light Orchestra and Joan Baez. Nile Rodgers will receive the Award For Musical Excellence.
The '90s alternative rock band Pearl Jam and rap genius Tupac made it in their very first year of eligibility. While Journey was the top vote-getter among the nominees with 13 percent of the nearly 1.9 million fan ballots cast.
“Rock and roll means so many things to so many different people,” Hall of Fame CEO Joel Peresman said. “To have a class that has everything from Joan Baez to Tupac Shakur, from Pearl Jam to Yes, is terrific. It gives a lot of people something to hang onto.”
The ceremony honoring these legends in music will be held in New York City on April 7 and will air on HBO at a later date.
