If Taylor Swift fans were disappointed about her not releasing a new album this year, a song with Zayn Malik might just quell that disappointment.

Swifties were in for a treat Thursday, Dec. 8 when Taylor dropped “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” with Zayn before midnight. The song will be featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack.

The “New Romantics” singer gave a sneak peak of the song on social media, prompting the song to rise to No. 1 on iTunes.

The snippet was featured along with clips from the sexy sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey.

Taylor co-wrote the song with Fun. frontman Jack Antonoff and Same Dew.

On Wednesday, Zayn posted an Instagram photo of him and Taylor with her cat. The caption read, “#idontwannaliveforever.”

Both artists posted on social media clips of their respective verses from the song.

In one part, Taylor sings, “I’m sitting eyes wide open and I got one thing stuck in my mind/Wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life.”

The former One Direction member joins Taylor in this chorus: “I don’t wanna live forever, ’cause I know I’ll be living in vain/ And I don’t wanna fit (fit, babe) wherever (wherever).”

Soon after, Zayn’s girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, who’s also a fellow member of Taylor’s squad, tweeted a screencap of herself listening to the song.

Lena Dunham, Taylor’s friend and Jack’s girlfriend, offered praise all around. Lena states that her friend has never sounded more “sultry.”

Fifty Shades Darker will be out on Feb. 14, 2017 just in time for Valentine’s Day. In the meantime, listeners can download “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” on iTunes now.
