Ed Sheeran recently stated, "I wanted to be a dad like, last year, I'm ready!"
"The Shape of You" singer sat down with Beats 1/Apple Music's Zane Lowe when the topic of parenting came up in the discussion.
Sheeran admitted that he has already begun baby-proofing his house in a sense.
"The problem with my house at the moment is, if I have a party house, its all in the house. And if I have kids, I still want to have mates around and have beers and stuff like that, so it's good to have something separate," he said of his built-in house pub that can only be accessed by a secret underground tunnel.
Lowe also asked Sheeran if he was looking forward to being a father which the songwriter replied, "Massively yeah. I wanted to be a dad like last year, I'm ready, let's go!"
Sheeran then stated that he would break from touring once his children had begun primary school so he could be there for them on a full-time basis while recording music in the countryside and that he and his wife would take turns raising the children. So it looks like he has his future plans all figured out.
Although the 25-year old musician isn't married, he and his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn of almost 2 years are currently living together.
Sheeran's new album ÷ , featuring the new single "Shape of You" is set for release on March 3rd.
