Gwen Stefani just landed the beauty contract that's basically a match made in heaven. The Orange County native, who we're so used to seeing sporting a signature red lip, has signed on with Revlon.
As a global ambassador, the 47-year-old mother of three will join the ranks of Halle Berry, Olivia Wilde and Ciara as the face of the brand.
"Ever since I was a young girl, I have used makeup as a form of self-expression … I am passionate about makeup and how it can showcase your individuality and creativity," Stefani stated. "Partnering with an iconic beauty brand such as Revlon felt like a natural fit. I am so excited to continue sharing my love of makeup as a Revlon."
The platinum blonde singer also spoke about her cringe-worthy retail experience as a makeup artist in her twenties.
"I was a makeup artist when I was in my early twenties at the mall, they never trained me," she said. "I worked behind the counter there for Borghese, which nobody bought because it was expensive, and Ultima II, which I think is actually owned by Revlon."
Basically, Stefani's said her job was to intimidate customers into buying products, which she thought was "horrible."
Although Gwen's captivating looks is a win-win for the brand, Revlon didn't approach her mainly because of that.
Revlon's chief marketing officer, Benjamin Karsch, said it's a combination of "who she is as a person and also her love story."
The romance between Gwen and country crooner, Blake Shelton, apparently really resonated with audiences beyond The Voice.
Gwen told Women's Wear Daily, "They have this Choose Love campaign, which is full of choice and positivity and dreams and truth and I feel like that’s aligning exactly with where I’m at in my personal life in the last couple of years and how I’ve had to kind of choose love, choose truth, choose to be positive and work my way back to a place of using my gift and sharing my love with people."
