Country superstar Luke Bryan will be taking the stage for the National Anthem at Super Bowl LI in Houston on Feb. 5.

When presented with the offer, 40-year-old Luke Bryan only had one response, “I said, ‘Hell yes, I’ll do it!’ ”

Nerves aside, the "Move" singer seems stoked about the gig. “Is the anthem challenging? Yes. Is it nerve-wracking? Yes. But I moved to Nashville to follow my dreams and singing the national anthem on that stage doesn’t get any bigger,” he tells People.

The father of two also explains what an honor it is to sing for patriotic reasons.

“I never served in the military — that’s something I wish I had had the opportunity to do,” Luke explains, “but I feel like this is my way of honoring my country. It’s a little chance to serve.”

As for which team he's hoping for the Super Bowl spots, the Leesburg-born singer admits, “I’ve to lean toward my Georgia roots. I’m a huge Atlanta Falcons fan and it would be amazing if my Falcons make it.”

Before sitting back and watching the game, however, he says, “I’ll be focused on the anthem. And once I walk off that field and shake off that pressure, I’ll be ready to enjoy some football.”

While Luke is set to perform the National Anthem, Lady Gaga will sing at the halftime show.

Luke follows the ranks of artists, like Gaga, Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, who belted out the National Anthem.
