Mariah Carey is speaking out about her now-infamous NYE performance last Saturday night on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.
It seems like we have heard from everyone about the incident over the past few days, but we haven't heard from Carey since she put out a tweet declaring, "Shit happens" and wishing her followers a Happy New Year.
But now, the queen herself is speaking out on the whole live performance debacle and how she felt about it.
"All I can say is Dick Clark was an incredible person and I was lucky enough to work with him when I first started in the music business. I’m of the opinion that Dick Clark would not have let an artist go through that and he would have been as mortified as I was in real time," Carey told Entertainment Weekly referring the audio issue she reportedly had.
Mimi did say that the cringe-worthy experience will not discourage her from doing live events in the future, but that it will make her "less trusting of using anyone outside of my own team."
Following her performance, many people took to social media with reactions to it. As for the reactions Carey has personally received she said, "My true fans have been so supportive and I am so appreciative of them and everybody in the media that came out to support me after the fact because it really was an incredible holiday season that turned into a horrible New Year’s Eve."
