Not everyone is done talking about Mariah Carey's disastrous New Year's Eve performance just yet because now her ex-husband Nick Cannon is telling us what he thinks happened that night and who's to blame.
The TV host weighed in about what he thought went down during Carey's infamous performance when he appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show Monday.
“You know me, I’m a conspiracy theorist. I think the government did that!” Cannon said jokingly. “They set her up! That was a distraction!”
But really what did he think of the whole thing and the excuse that Mariah's inner-ears didn't work properly?
“Anyone who knows about performing and having inner-ears, things like that can go wrong on live television,” Cannon said. “I screw up on America’s Got Talent all the time. So when there’s people in your ear saying things and stuff, I think she got a little flustered. Being the diva that she is, she said, ‘I’m just going to walk around and pose for 7 minutes.' And like Ryan Seacrest said, she can do no wrong. So she worked through it.”
As we reported, Carey's performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest turned into a major flop. Some of Mimi's people later blamed the show's production team saying they intentionally sabotaged her, which is something DCP has denied.
Carey said that she was "mortified" about the performance, but will not let it discourage her from doing more live shows in the future.
