The complete list of nominees for the 2017 Oscars Awards have been announced. To no one’s surprise, La La Land took 14 nominations. This includes a Best Actor nomination for Ryan Gosling, Lead Actress nomination for Emma Stone, two Best Song nominations and Best Picture.
Other nominees including Ruth Negga for her portrayal in Loving, Octavia Spencer for Supporting Actress in Hidden Figures and Viola Davis in Fences.
For Best Actor nominees, Denzel Washington scored a nomination for Fences and Mahershala Ali received a Supporting Actor nominee for Moonlight.
The film won seven Golden Globe awards in January, including Best Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy.
Along with Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, the announcement on Jan. 24 came with the help of Academy members Jennifer Hudson, Jason Reitman, Brie Larson, Ken Watanabe and Emmanuel Lubezki. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the awards will air Sunday, Feb. 26 on ABC.
