Attention Star Wars fans! The official title for the eighth film in the saga has been announced.

The movie website revealed the title of the next film will be Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Scheduled to be released Dec. 15, 2017, the film was written and directed by Rian Johnson with Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman as producers.

J.J. Abams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin served as executive producers. The film will also star Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, who completed filming before her death at the end of last year.

Hamill tweeted a photo of the movie title, writing “The wait for VIII begins…”

Variety recently reported there were no plans to digitally recreate Fisher for later films. She was supposed to play a role in the ninth film, but passed away before production began.

Lucasfilm said of Fisher, “We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia and we will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars.”
