Bachelor Nation was stunned when ABC announced that its next suitor would be none other than notorious villain Nick Viall. Now, six weeks into his journey, the world is still unsure if he was the right choice.
Famously known as "the runner-up," Nick's first appearance came in 2014 when he placed second on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette. Even after a failed first attempt at love, Nick decided to try again by surprising Kaitlyn Bristowe one year later on the next season of The Bachelorette, but succumbed to the same fate as before.
Instead of giving up, Nick tried his hand at a different Bachelor franchise by joining the cast of Bachelor in Paradise this past summer. While he ended up having the opportunity to propose to another one of Ben Higgins' castoffs, Jen Saviano, Nick decided she was not right for him and decided to let her go.
"The Bachelor" is generally chosen from the unlucky pool of men who lost on the previous season of The Bachelorette, so Nick making his fourth appearance on the Bachelor franchise was certainly unexpected. Many expected this season to revolve around a fan favorite from Jojo Fletcher's season, namely second runner up Chase McNary or fourth place finisher, Luke Pell.
While Nick ran away with the job, we're still not sure he was the best choice. Here are some of the other guys we think should have been courted this season.
