When did that version air?

If it's a great game show, chances are it's going to be revived sometime down the line, and if you look at today's television line-up, it feels like that sometime is now. Just look at all the classic game show reboots currently on the network schedules, from The $100,000 Pyramid on ABC to FOX's Love Connection.

Over the years, a number of game shows have been given a second chance - or even a third or fourth chance - to connect with an audience and many were as good, if not better, than their original versions. Some examples of game shows that made the most out of their second go-around are Family Feud hosted by Ray Combs from 1988 to 1994, Card Sharks hosted by Bob Eubanks from 1986 to 1989 and Jeopardy! hosted by Alex Trebek from 1984 to the present.

While Family Feud, Card Sharks and Jeopardy! are success stories, there have been times when a game show reboot has not lived up to the original's expectations. Game show revivals are a hit or miss, and in most cases, if the format is changed, the new host isn't as strong as the original host or the viewership just isn't there, a game show reboot will be a miss. Typically these unsuccessful versions will last one season and eventually fade away from people's memories. This list is devoted to ten versions of popular game shows that, to the average viewer, are not as well-known as previous incarnations.

Now, just because these are little-known versions of well-known game shows doesn't necessarily mean that the versions are bad. In fact, a few of the ten game shows being showcased on this list were actually quite good but due to those pesky things called ratings, they ended up getting canceled.

Plus, many of the hosts featured on this list have a good track record when it comes to game shows. The only problem with these versions was the show didn't leave a lasting impact on the audience. Every game show super fan should know all ten of these lesser-known game show incarnations whether they like them or not, but this list gives the everyday viewer the opportunity to learn some new game show knowledge and to check out some game show episodes you might not have known even existed.
