Adele stopped her tribute to George Michael in the middle of her performance.
On Sunday, Feb. 12, singer Adele returned to the Grammys stage to sing George Michael’s hit “Fastlove” in tribute to the late pop star. Halfway through the song, Adele stopped. There was a bleeped out moment before Adele apologized.
She said, “I can’t do it again like last year. I’m sorry for swearing and I’m sorry for starting again. Can we start it again? I’m sorry, I can’t mess this up for him.”
Last year, at the 2016 Grammy show, Adele’s performance was plagued with sound issues. The singer reported after the show that the piano mics had fallen onto the piano creating a guitar sound and making her sound flat.
This time, the band did start the song again. Adele was able to finish her performance as the crowd cheered her on.
