Britney Spears is talking about her niece, Maddie, who was involved in a serious ATV accident on Sunday, Feb. 5,  which landed the 8-year-old girl in the hospital.

The "Toxic" singer took to social media on Monday, Feb. 6, to let everyone know that the daughter of her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, still needs plenty of prayers and well wishes.

Brit shared a photo of the little girl and captioned it: "Need all the wishes and prayers for my niece ????."

The pop star has flown to Louisiana to be with her family.

As we reported, Maddie was hurt when a Polaris off-road vehicle she was on flipped over and sent her into a pond where she was underwater for several minutes.

A police report obtained by People gave further details on the accident and said that Jamie Lynn and Maddie's stepfather, Jamie Watson, witnessed the horrific accident and tried desperately to save her from the cold water. According to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards, Maddie was steering the vehicle on the family's property in full view of her mother and stepfather but made a hard turn to avoid a ditch.

In doing so, she overcorrected causing the ATV to enter the pond,” Edwards said in a statement. “The ATV and child were instantly submerged in the water right before their eyes. Within seconds the child’s mother, stepfather and other family members reached the pond, dove in and attempted to rescue the child to no avail. The child was trapped and secured by the seatbelt and the ATV’s safety netting. Within two minutes, Acadian Ambulance Services arrived and assisted in freeing the child from the cold waters.

“This is an extremely tragic accident. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking you to keep this family in your constant prayers as they try to cope with this horrible incident. We ask that you respect their privacy during this time of need.”

Maddie is currently listed in stable but critical condition.
