Adele has confirmed the rumors that she is married to her longtime partner Simon Konecki, whom they also share a child a together.
The 28-year-old singer casually confirmed her marriage at her show in Brisbane, Australia. During the performance, she said to the crowd, "I was trying to remember how it was I felt at the beginning of the relationship that inspired that record." She was referring to her record 21 and the breakout hit "Someone Like You."
She continued saying, "because as bad as a break up can be, as bitter and horrible and messy as it can be, that feeling when you first fall for someone is the best feeling on earth and I am addicted to that feeling.”
"Obviously I can’t go through with those feelings because I’m married now. I’ve found my next person," the singer continued with her onstage confession.
In addition, she also mentioned her secret marriage during her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammys. During her speech, Adele said, “Grammys, I appreciate it, the Academy, I love you, my manager, my husband and my son – you’re the only reason I do it.”
But in a later backstage interview that night, she referred to Konecki as her "partner," leaving skeptics to ponder.
Adele and Konecki have a 4-year-old son, Angelo. The couple began began dating in 2011.
