Many kids growing up in the '90s were fans of Amy Jo Johnson's alter ego, the original pink ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The cast members of Power Rangers were no different when the actress surprised actors Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin and Dacre Montgomery at a press junket.

While the three were waiting for another go around with the press in Toronto, Johnson pretended she was a reporter from The Daily Hive.

When the 46-year-old actress emerged, Lin looked shocked.

“Oh my God, hi!” Lin says, as Scott and Montgomery stood up to each give the actress a hug.

The new cast of the movie gushed about watching Johnson just yesterday and it's as if she never aged.

And if you thought Johnson's cover was blown as a reporter, the actress never skipped a beat in asking the new stars questions about the upcoming film.

When asked about the impact of the franchise, Lin hopes that kids today take the message of working together as a team to overcome challenges.

"It’s a very diverse cast. I think, in the movie, [the filmmakers are] definitely very specific about what issues we’re going through, you know, what normal, 17-year-old kids go through. A kid can relate to any one of us in some way." Scott, who portrays the pink ranger, praised Johnson. “But I can’t do any of the acrobatics like you [used to].”

What's different about the film and the original Power Rangers? Johnson pointed out that back then, the rangers didn't have powers  unless they were in costume.

While that "superhuman" detail is true, Scott didn't want to reveal too much even to the veteran actress. "Well, you'll see..." Scott said coyly.

The cast then proceeded to pose for a photo with Johnson.

From 1993 to 1995, Johnson played Kimberly Hart, the gymnast underneath the pink ranger costume in original show on Fox Kids.

Power Rangers starring Bryan Cranston, Bill Hader, Elizabeth Banks and Becky G, is set to premiere on March 24.
