Nick Cannon is responding to the reports that he is the reason (or at least part of the reason) that Mariah Carey and Brian Tanaka broke up.

The former America's Got Talent host spoke to ET about the news that his ex-wife and her backup dancer ended their romance apparently because Tanaka was jealous of the co-parenting relationship he and Mariah have.

"I know nothing about this," Cannon said regarding the split. "I got too many of my own relationship issues to be worried about an old relationship."

When asked about if he thought Tanaka was jealous of him, Cannon responded with "Most men are jealous of me. I'm joking. But I know nothing about it. For me, at the end of the day, she's an amazing mother and we focus on our kids. That's never going to change no matter who's in my life or who's in her life. We have kids together, so we'll always be family."

The Wild and Out star also made it clear that he and Mariah do not get involved in each other's personal lives and they are just all about their  5-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe.

Tanaka and Carey got together several months ago after she and James Packer ended their engagement although many people, including Cannon, have questioned if the realtionship was even real or just for Mariah's show.

Cannon clarified his comments made about that by saying, "I don't know. I thought it was bizarre as somebody watching from afar. I thought the show was very produced. I didn't say that their relationship was just for show. I thought the show fabricated a lot of stuff because, as a producer, I was like, 'Oh, they positioned that. They put the cameras there.' I was watching it from that perspective. But I don't know what the relationship actually is."

Another reason given for Carey and Tanaka's breakup was that he had extravagant taste and constantly had Mimi footing the bill for his Gucci and Balman attire.
