Justin Bieber has cancelled all 14 remaining dates on his Purpose World Tour. including everything in California, Colorado, New Jersey and Texas in the United States..
Internationally he nixed concerts in Japan, The Phillipines and what was to be the final date of the tour on October 7th in Singapore.
According to a statement from one of his representatives, "Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the Purpose World Tour concerts. Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the Purpose World Tour over last 18 months."
Not Related to Being Banned by China. Seriously.
The cancellation of the tour was immediately preceded by (but in no way connected to} being banned by the Chinese government for bad behavior. Which: whatever that means.
Apparently their official response had some choice words for the young Canadian. "Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer," the Municipal Bureau of Culture said in a statement shared online.
Justin Bieber Banned to Help Purify Chinese Culture
"In order to maintain order in the Chinese market and purify the Chinese performance environment, it is not suitable to bring in badly behaved entertainers,
We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public."
The City of Beijing apparently takes cultural purification seriously every now and then.
Aside from the serious business of purifying the Chinese nation, the tour was cancelled three days later.
Why?
Well his publicist said of the tour cancellation. "He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."
Perhaps E! has a good bead on the reason.
