Warning: Minor spoilers for The Defenders follow.
If it feels like it was only yesterday since we were all binge-watching Marvel’s The Defenders, that’s because it really has only been twelve days. However, if there’s one thing we’ve learned in the past decade it’s that Marvel won’t back down — which is why they are already pushing ahead to give us a new image of Misty Knight with her bionic arm in Season 2 of Luke Cage.
In the final episode of The Defenders we saw Misty’s arm being taken off with a sword by a member of the hand. She was then saved by Colleen Wing and Claire Temple, but the damage had already been done.
Now, the first photo of Misty and her new bionic arm standing with Luke Cage has dropped online, via a story through Entertainment Weekly:
In the comics, Misty receives her bionic arm from Tony Stark. However, since Marvel has made efforts to separate their cinematic and Netflix universe for the most part, it’s more likely that the arm came from Danny Rand - aka the Iron Fist - and the Rand Corporation .
Misty’s bionic arm is known to have the powers of super-strength and a deathly grip.
Misty Knight is played by the talented Simone Missick and she first appeared in the first season of Luke Cage. Luke Cage Season 2 is set to release sometime in 2018, so you have plenty of time to get caught up on the Marvel Netflix universe before then.
