Taylor Swift was awarded $1 in damages by a Denver jury who concluded DJ David Mueller assaulted and battered her during a 2013 photo shoot.

"He did not touch my rib, he did not touch my hand, he grabbed my bare ass."

In addition, the jury ruled against Mueller's 2015 tortious interference suits against Swift's mother, Andrea Swift, and radio promotions director Frank Bell, which he claimed caused the cancellation of his $150,000/year contract with a local radio station, according to CNN.

Swift said in a statement, "I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration, my attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process."

The symbolic dollar is more than a win, it tells women that their bodies are their own and no truly means no.
