Maybe you were never asking for a remake of Alex Proyas 1994 film The Crow, but it’s coming — and it’s being brought to you by Sony Pictures.
The reboot, which has been in development for nearly a decade at Relativity Media, facing production issue after production issue — will be called The Crow Reborn and is based on a graphic novel written by James O’Barr.
The original film, which became something of a cult classic after its initial release, saw Brandon Lee in the lead role, and told the story of a murdered rock star who is brought back to life in order to get revenge on the people who killed him.
As of right now, it appears that Jason Momoa will be taking on the role in the reboot. However, this project has seen many credible actors sign on to this project and then depart — including Tom Hiddleston, Bradley Cooper, Jack Huston and Alexander Skarsgard — so Momoa may not be set in stone.
Sony hasn’t announced a director or a release date yet, but for now we’ll have to wait and see if they can get this cursed reboot off the ground.
