A short teaser for Marvel’s upcoming The Punisher series has just been released on Twitter. It may be only thirty-seconds long, but it's easily the coolest thing we've seen all day:
The video shows off Frank Castle’s fighting skills, as he takes out some sort of military soldiers with a few homemade booby traps and a knife, all whilst running around in the woods.
“I’m coming for you,” Frank Castle — cast perfectly as Jon Bernthal — says in the video. Who exactly the ‘you’ that Castle is referring to is not yet clear, but we’re pretty sure that, whoever it is, their life expectancy isn’t looking all that high.
Along with the video, new images of Bernthal wearing the iconic punisher logo on his t-shirt were released a few days earlier:
Bernthal first appeared in the Marvel Netflix universe in the second season of Daredevil, almost instantly becoming a fan favorite character. Marvel was quick to announce a spin-off series about his backstory, which is set to be released this fall. Curiously, no exact release date has yet been set for the show.
Back in July, they released the first official trailer for The Punisher. You can watch it here:
The Punisher also stars Jason R. Moore, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Michael Nathanson. I wouldn’t count a brief cameo from Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock out of the picture just yet either.
