Taylor Swift has dropped the newest single from her upcoming album entitled “…Ready for It?" which will be the opening track on Reputation.
Much like “Look What You Made Me Do” — the first single from Reputation which was released online a week ago — “…Ready for It?” finds a darker edge that strongly differs from Swift’s previous music. Her days of country music are definitely over.
Swift teased the song on Sat., Sept. 2 in a promo during the Alabama vs. Florida State football game which aired on ABC. She also took to her Twitter to share the single:
While fans are still trying to decipher hidden meaning in the lyrics — people have begun speculating that the song is about her new boyfriend Joe Alwyn — “…Ready for It?” has already gotten a more positive reception that “Look What You Made Me Do.” Patrick Ryan of USA Today described it as “a big step up from the petty, listless latter song (“Look What You Made Me Do”), as Tay rap-sings over an abrasive electronic beat about a new beau who’s better than her exes.”
On Twitter, fans posted their excitement as well. And yes, they didn't pass up the chance to use every possible pun out of the song title:
We'll have to wait until November 10 to see what the rest of Reputation has in store for us.
