Just show us the black suit already.
A new trailer for DC's upcoming Justice League, featuring a cover of David Bowie's “Heroes” that’s sung by Gangs of Youth, has just been released.
The trailer begins with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) re-uniting with Clark Kent in what we assume is Martha Kent’s farmhouse. Hans Zimmer’s Man of Steel score is playing, Kent says some reassuring words to Lois about their relationship and everything seems to be perfect.
That is, it was perfect until Lois wakes up and realizes the whole thing was a dream. Clark is still gone, Earth remains Superman-less — and is ready to tear itself apart because of it.
That’s where the Justice League comes in. Led by Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aka The Batman and Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) aka Wonder Woman, the super-hero squad fights off some sort of ancient army that’s threatening to end the world as we know it.
More specifically, that threat is known as Steppenwolf, who is being played by Ciarán Hinds (Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones). We don’t know all that much about him as of now (not including the hardcore comic-book fans, of course), but the trailer gives us some new glimpses of him and the army of parademons he leads.
Also a part of the Justice League is Aquaman (played by Jason Momoa), The Flash (played by Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (played by Ray Fisher). We get a few glimpses of all of them interacting together — most of which are Aquaman flying around in a ‘cowabunga dude’ type of fashion.
No other Superman footage has been given, even though fans are pretty certain he’s going to be returning at some point in the film. The speculation now turns to whether he’ll return in his typical blue and red outfit, or will show up with his infamous black suit.
Justice League is being co-directed by Zack Snyder — who had to step away from the project last May after dealing with a family tragedy — and Joss Whedon who directed The Avengers. For now, it appears that Snyder will still be receiving directing credit on the final product and Whedon will be getting screenplay credit.
Justice League is being released on Nov. 17, 2017 (and also made it on our top 10 movies we’re still looking forward to in 2017 list). Watch the new trailer here:
