Molly Burke, born in Toronto, Canada, is a YouTube vlogger with over 322,000 subscribers, making her big break after she appeared with Casey Neistat on his vlog in July.
What's most impressive is she takes to life charmingly and shares on the screen while she is blind, having lost her sight to Retinitis Pigmentosa, a retinal disease causing loss of vision at 4 years old and the rest of it went when she was 14.
Although, with her bubbly personality she makes being blind seem not too big of a challenge. In fact, she has said, "I don't sit around and think about the fact that I'm blind, ever!"
She has to date 248 videos and counting.
What landed her the vlog with Neistat, is the fact she deals with her blindness with courage and gleeful tenacity while chatting in her vlogs about travel, what it's like to be blind, challenges and fashion tips. Impressively she can draw and write without seeing!
She is also a motivational speaker and began public speaking at 5. She is an ambassador for The Foundation for Fighting Blindness Canada and has appeared around the world to speak about her condition, giving hope and solace to many who struggle.
Not only this she has presented alongside Demi Lovato, Macklemore, Martin Sheen, Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Malala Yousafzai and the Kielburger brothers. In addition, she was in the documentary Rising Above in 2016.
Talk about a youthful soul who has done some high caliber speaking!
In 2017, she moved to Los Angeles, receiving a green card because she is an “Alien of extraordinary ability.” Her videos are a wonderful pick me up and are impressive due to her eye capturing talent.
