Dwayne Johnson is the box office champion yet again as Rampage took the top spot at the weekend box office.

Johnson’s action film opened with $34.5 million and I expect this film to have no problem reaching $100 million domestically. The film has only a couple weeks to make an impact at the box office as Infinity War is less than two weeks away from opening and we know that film will dominate the box office.

A Quiet Place had a very good second weekend only dropping 35 percent and managed to bring in $32.6 million. The film stands just under $100 million domestically after only being released for ten days. The film also brought in $22.3 million internationally and now has a worldwide gross of over $150 million.

The horror film Truth or Dare opened in third place with $19.1 million. A solid opening for this film and could have been helped by the film opening on Friday the 13th. I project this film will finish around the $50 million domestic mark.

Ready Player One dropped two spots to fourth place with $11.2 million. The film has passed $115 million domestically after 18 days and the film’s worldwide gross stands around $360 million.

Blockers rounds out the top five with $10.3 million and is approaching $40 million domestically. The film dropped 50% during its second weekend and I predict this is the final weekend that this film will be in the top five.

Isle of Dogs was the only film in the top ten to see an increase this weekend as the film went up 10 percent during its fourth week of release after expanding. The film is approaching $20 million domestically.

Black Panther brought in $5.3 million and is approaching $675 million domestically. The film has locked in its spot as being the third largest domestic release of all-time. Disney and Marvel are gonna have another massive hit when Infinity War comes out on April 27.

I Can Only Imagine ($3.8 million), Acrimony ($3.7 million) and Chappaquiddick ($3 million) round out the top ten this weekend.

Rampage has a decent chance to remain box office champion for a second straight weekend as it faces competition from three new wide releases including the release of the long-awaited sequel Super Troopers 2 from the Broken Lizard comedy troupe.
