J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions, known for blockbuster TV shows, films and franchises such as Lost and Westworld, is leaping into the gaming industry. The business is in partnership with Tencent, a Chinese gaming company.

Company president Brian Weinstein announced this news Thursday. According to Hollywood Reporter, the partnership will develop games by Bad Robot, while Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will join in as a minority investor.

Bad Robot Games will leave its freelance visual artists, writers, musicians, sound designers, and in-house creative directors available during development, according to Engadget. Tencent has the distributions rights for all games in Asia, as it helped finance.

David Baronoff will lead the game division, while Tim Keenan will serve as creative director. Baronoff has led Bad Robot's interactive and games division since 2006, while Keenan is known for creating the 2016 PC and mobile game Duskers.
