Actor Jason Momoa wanted to cut one particular line from the Justice League script.

Aquaman as a character has existed in various iterations since 1941, when he debuted. Generally, he has been depicted as a blond superhero in green tights who can talk to fish. Momoa's character has a much more "cool" vibe, wearing tight jeans and drinking straight whiskey from the bottle, for example, according to Cinema Blend.

In 2017's Justice League, Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne has a line asking Aquaman whether he can talk to fish. Momoa's Arthur Curry snarks that he'll check the tides.

Momoa says he instantly wanted this line taken out, according to Movie Web. The line, covering the most recognizable trait of Aquaman's, was, he felt, a completely different tone for the character he had portrayed so far. It lowered the coolness factor significantly, especially as the rest of the film downplays this skill.

Momoa returns as Aquaman in his solo film of the same name, which will release on December 21, 2018.
