As chaos stirs at the border, the First Lady took a trip to Texas, displaying a confusing statement via fashion that has started a media storm. We wonder why bring such an incendiary statement into an already incendiary situation? Either way, Melania Trump wore the jacket.

Melania Trump sported a green military style jacket with the statement painted on it, “I really don’t care, do u?” as she got on the plane to visit an immigrant detention center in Texas on Thursday, June 21.

The jacket, which had been on sale for $39 at Zara, is now hand-over-fist off the shelves and sold out. Several photos had been taken of the jacket, which was originally innocuous, but now has become a statement of various interpretation.

Her spokesperson Stephanie Grisham from FLOTUS has stated, while a huge social media storm has started to light up the internet that, “It’s a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope this isn’t what the media is going to choose to focus on.”

Grisham, in addition, posted this tweet.

Mrs. Trump had worn the jacket at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and had changed her outfit before she got in Texas. Since she is a person of power the displayed jacket could have been meant to say something beyond the obvious modern hipster trend aesthetic. Certainly, the First Lady is not a hipster.

Mrs. Trump had also worn the jacket again after the media was erupting about the statement after arriving back from her visit to Texas at Andrews Air Force Base the same Thursday.

While the trip to Texas had been unannounced, before she went to the detention center she was at the Upbring New Hope Children’s Center in McAllen, Texas, to speak to the staff there.

To add to the blaze of controversy, this is happening while the Trump administration is under heat from huge protests that are swelling as the government separates immigrant parents from their children while detaining them both.

On Wednesday, June 20, President Donald Trump signed an executive order stating to not sperate the families who are caught and detained at the border. Although those families that have been separated have not been sorted out at all, and very little has been done so far.

Donald Trump, in response to the social media backlash, posted the above tweet.

In addition, he also posted this statement not but an hour later.

Meanwhile of her visit to Texas Melania Trump has only tweeted this.

The jacket worn by Melania Trump could just be a fashion choice, but so far, it appears to be the Trump's statement to the families being separated and to immigrants, in general, saying that this administration just does not care about them.
