The ABC comedy Fresh off the Boat has landed at Freeform and Up for off-network syndication deals. Episodes will begin airing later this year.
The show has 79 episodes and four seasons behind it, and ABC will air season five this fall. Hulu acquired the streaming rights in 2017, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The series is based on chef Eddie Huang's memoir of the same name. Set in the mid-90s, it features his family trying to assimilate to Florida life after moving from Washington D.C. Stars include Randall Park, Constance Wu, Hudson Yang, Ian Cheng, and others.
According to Deadline, this dealmaking is coming late and is because the off-network business is changing to rely more on originals as opposed to acquired programming. Cable networks are also taking more time to let shows air for several seasons before purchasing them.
Season five of Fresh off the Boat returns to ABC this fall.
