Bruce Campbell will be Ash one more time in a new video game!

Bruce Campbell said that he would retire from playing his most iconic character, Ash Williams, after Starz canceled the popular series, Ash vs Evil Dead. However, it looks like Campbell will give it one more go-round as a new Evil Dead video game has been announced.

Evil Dead became an instant cult classic when it was released in 1981, spawning two sequels, a tv show, comic books, video games and even a musical. The franchise has a special place in the heart of horror lovers everywhere and the main reason is the hero, Ash Williams.

Bruce Campbell's defining role as the boomstick wielding, demon-fighting, wisecracking, hero has become one of the most popular horror characters of all time. If you ever go to horror cons, comic cons or even the next time you go trick 'r' treating you are bound to see some people dressed up as Ash.

The announcement of a new video game is exciting news by itself,  but the fact that Bruce Campbell will be returning to voice Ash has me all giddy. Especially after the cancellation of the hit show. However, this could be the final time Campbell does anything with Ash.

The Evil Dead franchise has provided video games in the past. A Fistful of Boomstick and Regeneration were both released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, but that was a long time ago. A new game is overdue and being released on the PS4 or Xbox One should provide some amazing gory graphics worthy of the films themselves.

Fans of the franchise were all heartbroken when Ash vs Evil Dead was canceled. Maybe this new game will send our beloved hero out on the high note he deserves. I know I'm excited about what a new Evil Dead game can be capable of today and I'm gonna keep this one on my radar. As of right now, there are no other details regarding the game.
