Droughtlander pains eased by cast's comments on the relationship

Outlander fans still have to wait two more months in order to see the next chapter in the lives of our favorite couple, Jamie and Claire, but the cast recently dished that the lovers' connection deepens in Season 4.

Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the deeper connection that they experience during the upcoming season.

In the first season, despite their meet-cute and great chemistry, it wasn't exactly love at first sight, though the bones were there early on.  The love grew, but Claire did still have a husband back home in her own time. The second season sent the pair trying to stop or start a war depending on the episode and they were still dealing with the presence of enemy Jack Randall and the existence of Frank.

The couple was apart for most of season three, but when they found each other again, their love was renewed.  Now, drama seems to follow this couple around, so even though there isn't a force like a living husband around to throw a wrench in the relationship, there is always a new adventure or a new adversary to keep their story going.

Since season three ended with Jamie and Claire surviving a shipwreck off the coast of Georgia about to embark on a new life in the New World we are on pins and needles to know what happens next.

Fans of the books by Diana Galbadon know that this season is allegedly in sync with Drums of Autumn and can expect it to be filled with lots of drama, but more domestic tranquility.

“It's a more mature relationship,” Catriona Balfe added on ET. “I think there's a deeper love there. It may not be the kind of on-the-surface passion that you have when you're first falling in love, but the passion runs deeper. They’re just a really solid team this season, which I think is really nice for us to be able to play.”

It is refreshing to know that time strengthens the bond between Jamie and Claire and it will be great to see what is in store for them this season.  It was already revealed that in season four, their daughter Brianna will pass through the stones in an attempt to connect with her family, so the couple's dynamic will change to accommodate their adult daughter.

Season four of Outlander premieres on Starz on Sunday, Nov. 4.
