Born in London, England, Daniel Day-Lewis was born to an actress mother, Jill Bacon, and a poet father.

He got his first role in the movie Sunday Bloody Sunday, as an uncredited vandal.

Daniel Day-Lewis is married to The Crucible stage play writer, Arthur Miller's daughter, and the couple had two children together.
