BBC America said on Thursday that Orphan Black has earned a second season.

According to The Wrap, the decision to renew the conspiracy thriller comes just weeks before the season one finale is set to air on June 1. The second season will start next year and will include 10 episodes.

“Tatiana Maslany has delivered one of the year’s standout performances,” BBC general manager of channels Perry Simon said of the show’s star in a statement.

Maslany (The Vow) plays the lead character, Sarah, in the show. Her co-stars include Maria Doyle Kennedy (Downton Abbey), Jordan Gavaris (Degrassi), Dylan Bruce, Kevin Hanchard and Michael Mando.

TV Wise reports that the show was created by Flashpoint’s Graeme Manson and Spartacus’ John Fawcett.

Temple Street Productions, BBC America and Space produce the series. The executive producers are David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, who thanked BBC America for renewing the show. “We’re thrilled to continue this journey with such a strong team and fantastic cast, led by the ridiculously talented Tatiana Maslany. A huge thanks to the fans for their steadfast support of the show. We’re looking forward to giving every one of them more Orphan Black,” they said.

The first season is out on DVD on July 16. You can check out our latest recap here.
