While the world has known Carlos Estevez as Charlie Sheen since he became a movie star, the actor is going to use his birth name for Machete Kills, the new film by Robert Rodriguez.
Sheen joined the cast of the film last summer to play the president of the U.S. He gives Danny Trejo’s Machete character the orders to stop an evil drug cartel from using weapons in space.
According to TMZ, the Anger Management actor has decided to go with his real name for the first time in his career. The site obtained a screenshot from the film, showing Sheen with a gun and the words “And Introducing Carlos Estevez.”
While his brother, Emilio Estevez, has used his real name during his entire acting career, Sheen has stuck with Sheen. Their father is Martin Sheen, whose real name is Ramón Antonio Gerardo Estevez and he never legally changed his name.
Machete Kills has been slated for a Sept. 13, 2013 release date. It also stars Jessica Alba and Lady Gaga. It is the sequel to the 2010 film Machete.
Rodriguez is also working on Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which hits theaters in October.
