Cult will return on Fridays, beginning June 28, airing 2 episodes for three weeks to give fans closure from the cancelled show according to Huffington Post. The show revolved around Jeff, a journalist played by Davis in his search for his brother, leading him to investigate a TV show with a cult-like following. Jessica Lucas plays Skye, a researcher on the TV show, who teams up with Jeff to help find his missing brother.

The CW pulled the series after having only 620,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating according to TV series finale. Davis was previously on the CW’s hit show The Vampire Diaries, but when his character was killed off, he was offered the lead role of the cancelled teen show. Cult creator Rockne S. O'Bannon informed fans on twitter that the show would be returning.
