Elvis Costello and The Roots announced their new album Wise Up Ghost will be released in September through Blue Note Records.

There may be some Latin feel to songs on the album possibly including, “Cinco Minutos Con Vos,” which features guest vocals by La Santa Cecilia, lead singer of La Marisoul, according to Billboard.

Originally, they planned for around 14 songs but then decided to replace four of the songs with four stronger and better songs Consequence of Sound reported.

Costello described the album as “the shortest distance between here and there.”

The roots became the house band on NBC’s “Late night With Jimmy Fallon” in 2009 and have backed multiple musicians including, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Bon Iver, and Carly Rae Jepsen.

In an interview with Billboard, the Roots drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson said when they met Costello on his three “Late Night” appearances, including a performance in February 2012, “it was really love at first sight. The second time he came on, we surpassed the first one. So by the third time, we was like, ‘Let’s stope messing around and do something together.”

Questlove describes the album as “a moody, brooding affair,” and “I can just say that it is brilliant.”
