As Zach Braff’s Kickstarter fund for Wish I Was Here continues to grow, so does the film’s cast. The former Scrubs star and Garden State director has cast Homeland’s Mandy Patinkin and Josh Gad in key roles for the film.

It took just four days for the project to reach its $2 million goal after Braff announced it last month. The fund currently stands at $2.6 million, with nine days left.

On Tuesday, Patinkin joined the project, reports Deadline. The former Criminal Minds actor is going to play the father of Aidan Bloom, Braff’s character.

Today, Variety reported that Gad has been cast to play the brother. Gad is currently without a job after NBC canceled his 1600 Penn sitcom. He will next be seen in the Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughn comedy The Internship.

The plot for Wish I Was Here features Aidan Bloom as an actor and father struggling with his life. He and his wife are in financial straits, but he tries to escape with his childhood dreams of being a space hero. Braff wrote it with his brother, Adam Braff.

It will be Braff’s first feature since Garden State. Braff explained that in order to keep full creative control, he needed to use the Kickstarter program to generate interest. The film will be produced by Double Feature Films team Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg.
