The Quiet Ones, a supernatural thriller from Hammer productions, will be released in North America by Lionsgate next April.
According to Deadline, the studio picked up the distribution rights to the film at the Cannes film market. The cast is headlined by former Mad Men star Jared Harris and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Sam Claflin.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Lionsgate is also distributing the film in the U.K.
The plot centers on a professor who has controversial methods and tries to use his students to create a poltergeist with negative energy. Since creating a poltergeist with positive energy wouldn’t be as exciting.
The Quiet Ones was directed by John Pogue, who wrote U.S. Marshalls and Ghost Ship.
Claflin will star in Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, playing Finnick Odair, which is due out on Nov. 22. He also appeared in Snow White and the Huntsman.
The Quiet Ones is currently scheduled for April 25, 2014.
