Don Thompson, CEO of McDonald Corp., said at an analyst conference that he had lost 20 pounds in the past year by getting his “butt up” and “working out again”—but he maintained his habit of eating at McDonald’s everyday.

Thompson, who has been the CEO for less than a year, was answering a question about how the world’s biggest hamburger chain is adapting while concerns about obesity are consistently growing, according to the Huffington Post.

“I think that balance is really important to people,” Thompson said.

He noted that Europeans walk a lot and are rarely “very, very heavy.”

Thompson, however, did not specify what menu items he eats at McDonald’s “every, single day.” As it is a hamburger-centric chain, many may assume this is what he orders, but McDonald’s has recently added multiple options healthier than their burgers.

These healthier items include salads, chicken wraps and egg white breakfast sandwiches. These options were added to the menu in recent years, a reflection of the criticism aimed at fast-food restaurants for their unhealthy, obesity-causing food.

Though these healthier items are available for customers on a diet who need a quick meal, Thompson noted that salads only make up only 2 to 3 percent of sales. “I don’t see salads being a major growth driver,” he said, according to Newsday.
