Singer Miguel must have been watching too much WWE before he performed in last night’s Billboard Music Awards. He was inspired to do a leap from one section of the stage to another and instead of safely landing, he crashed onto a fan’s head. Thankfully there were no injuries and the fan managed to laugh the incident off.
The singer was performing his song “Adorn” and he didn’t have a safe landing to say the least. He got one fan’s head stuck between his legs for a moment and landed on the shoulder of another. As Mashable notes, the incident quickly became a Twitter sensation. As of 8 a.m. this morning, Miguel’s name is still trending on Twitter. One viewer used Vine to capture the scary moment, which you can see below.
“Well, I think it's kind of clear what happened,” Miguel told Billboard after the show. “But I'm very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met . Unfortunately we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we're okay.”
The fan, who held an ice pack on her shoulder, added, "I Adorn him.”
Miguel explained that he “got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay.”
The Billboard Music Awards were held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas last night, with Taylor Swift winning Top Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album.
