Psy's “Gangnam Style” was not well received at the Italian Cup Final Saturday. The Korean superstar's performance was received with boos in the middle of his chart topping hit.
According to Digital Spy, the crowd booed the South Koren while he performed his hit song, “Gangnam Style.” Organizers of the event turned the volume up on Psy's performance in the hopes of drowning out the negative response.
Psy is said to have been very embarrassed, but still finished and thanked the crowd for the opportunity to perform at the Italian Cup.
Digital Spy reports that it is unclear if the boos were an act of racism or if the audience were simply not a fan of the song.
Throughout the days event, nine people were arrested for violent behavior with numerous weapons confiscated Entertainment Wise reports.
“Gangnam Style” became the most viewed video on YouTube, beating out Justin Bieber's baby. “Gentleman,” Psy's follow-up to “Gangnam Style” has been uploaded over 360,000,000 times, Entertainment Wise notes.
