“They rose like the phoenix and then they were gone!” But now, the San Diego Channel 4 News Team is finally back with Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The first trailer for the new film, which stars Will Ferrell as anchorman Ron Burgundy, was released by Paramount last night.
The trailer shows that the director Adam McKay and Ferrell have brought the character into the 1980s, forcing him to get used to the new world of a 24-hour news network. Burgundy, Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and “Champ” Kind (David Koechner) are all heading to New York for new jobs, but they have to compete with a handsome anchor played by James Marsden. Brick also finds love, played by Kristen Wiig.
Other members of the cast include Vince Vaughn, Harrison Ford, Christina Applegate, Liam Neeson, Meagan Good and John C. Reilly.
Fans have been waiting patiently to see Burgundy on the big screen since Farrell confirmed on Conan in March 2012 that the sequel was in the works. Then in December, we got official word that the studio will be releasing the film on Dec. 20, 2013. Also, to get ready for the new film the Newseum in Washington, DC is holding Anchorman: The Exhibit starting in November.
