For the second time in a week, a Robert Rodriguez project is getting delayed. Open Road Films announced today that his sequel to Machete, Machete Kills, will now be coming out in October instead of September.

The film had been scheduled for Sept. 13, but The Hollywood Reporter is now reporting that the distributor is pushing it back to Oct. 4.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which Rodriguez co-directed with Frank Miller, was supposed to come out on Oct. 4, but The Weinstein Company’s Dimension Films pushed it all the way back to Aug. 22, 2014.

Machete Kills finds Danny Trejo’s title character being assigned to stop a drug cartel from using an outer space weapon. The all-star cast includes Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Antonio Banderas, Vanessa Hudgens and Lady Gaga in her first movie role. Charlie Sheen is playing the president and is going to use his birth name, Carlos Estevez.

Open Road also announced that the Sylvester Stallone-written action film Homefront will now hit theaters on Nov. 27, Thanksgiving weekend. Gary Fleder directed the film and Jason Statham, Kate Bosworth and Winona Ryder star.
